Teaching

I teach operations, product development and innovation. My courses pair rigorous frameworks with cases, business games and simulations, so students practice applying ideas to real product and service decisions.

What students say

My teaching philosophy is to connect rigorous academic content with practical relevance, to keep students actively engaged, and to keep improving through student feedback. Here is how students rate and describe the result.

Practical relevance

Frameworks tied to real decisions, through cases, real-world examples and pre-work.

The module [i.e., course] is great. It is easy to follow and the lecturer is engaging. We can quickly see how you can apply course concepts to reality, which makes it even more interesting.
BSc/MSci student, Product, Technology and Operations Management, 2024/25
This module taught me more about business than all of my modules in UCL so far together.
BSc/MSci student, Product, Technology and Operations Management, 2021/22
I appreciated the practical and interactive nature of the module. The case studies and real-world examples helped me understand how new product development is applied in practice. The teaching style encouraged participation and critical thinking, and the group activities provided valuable opportunities to collaborate with classmates. The pre-work activities were useful in preparing for class discussions and helped make the sessions more engaging and productive.
UCL MBA student, New Product Development, 2025/26

Engagement and participation

Drawing every student into the discussion.

Ersin himself - makes the subject very interesting/engaging when it could easily be taught in a very boring way.
BSc/MSci student, Product, Technology and Operations Management, 2018/19
Very enjoyable and nice teaching, please continue to spread this enthusiasm for learning!
BSc/MSci student, Product, Technology and Operations Management, 2020/21

The module overall is really interesting and you can see that the subject taught in class will be useful in our future, the teaching method is great. Ersin goes into details and is here for everyone, he is patient and will explain something as many times as needed. Best module of the first semester.
